Trump, Giving Master Weapons to Prevent School Shooting

Last week a gripping event took place in Florida, USA. A school in Parkland, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, was brutally assaulted by a 19-year-old teenager named Nikolaus Cruz, using an AR-15 type of firearm. Cruz is known to be a former student at the school. He used to be expelled for bad behavior. But until now no further known what the real motive behind the shooting that killed 17 people. This incident adds to the long list of tragic shootings at schools or colleges in the United States.

Places that should be safe for the learning process of children, are repeatedly mute witnesses of armed violence. Americans are demanding that the government take immediate steps to prevent this terrible tragedy from happening again. But as in many other issues, US President, Donald J. Trump, actually issued a controversial statement related to this shooting incident. Instead of keeping weapons out of the school environment, Trump wants to arm the teachers in order to fight back. The solution immediately reap a strong reaction. Kok even kayak told to fight so ya?

The issue of gun ownership in the US is always a fierce debate between Republican camps that overshadow Trump and opposition Democratic Party. But when the lives of school-aged children continue to be at stake, what is it worth a President to suggest such a solution. Does it mean that teachers should also be given military training to carry weapons? Let's see the full story with Hipwee News & Feature!

The events in Florida yesterday prompted Trump to issue a controversial proposal. He said teachers should be armed to prevent shootings from happening at school

Reported by the BBC, Trump threw the proposed arming teacher after the survivors shooting Florida urged him to ensure similar events will not happen again. Not just freeing teachers to have their own weapons, Trump will also encourage them to attend special training. In addition, Trump also stated that it supports the relevant parties to further tighten the background inspection of arms buyers in the US. The proposal sparked controversy. For those who are pro, with the weapons that the teachers will be able to end the attack more quickly. So not more lives floating

For the pro side, Trump's proposal was deemed to be more effective in overcoming brutal attacks that may at times come again. During this time if there is a similar incident must have to call the authorities first new perpetrators can be secured. This is because in addition to the victims do not have the authority, they also often do not have the courage to face the perpetrators themselves with empty hands. Often, once the authorities come even already many lives that already floated. But some people actually think that proposal could even make the problem worse. People do not want to have shootings, not even shoot each other

One of the counter parties, Mark Barden, whose son was the victim of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School Connecticut 2012, said that arming teachers is not the answer. He thinks people do not want a similar shooting to happen again. Teachers are now taking great responsibility. Arming them with firearms will add even more weight. Who wants to watch shooting at school? Of course nobody wants.

The number of American civilians who have firearms emang most when compared to other countries. This fact followed the same number of shootings there

Currently arguably America is a country with the largest population of firearms in the world. Data from Small Arms Survey as reported by the BBC so the proof. In 2011, it was reported as many as 89 out of 100 US people have firearms. Followed by Yemen (55/100), Switzerland (46/100), and Finland (45/100). Many parties, including experts who then connect the high level of ownership of firearms with the rise of shootings or suicide using firearms. Especially in the last 1 decade, we often see the tragedy of shooting in the US. If totaled already hundreds of lives floated because the attack using firearms.

In addition there is no strict rule of ownership, the price of firearms are relatively cheap also be a factor why many people finally choose to keep the object for self-defense. For example aja assault rifle used Stephen Paddock during the Las Vegas tragedy some time ago. The price is only worth the MacBook is about Rp20-an million. While the standard pistols that we often see in action movies can be purchased at Rp2 million! Obviously not an expensive price for US citizens.

About gun ownership in the US is already a debate in many circles. At least, Indonesia has more stringent rules. What is clear, the case of assault kayak in Florida that can not be finished just by entrusting the teachers holding their own weapons anyway. If it turns out that the teacher also has the potential to become a terrorist?
